Native of St-Côme, a small village renowned for their tradition of call and response songs, Andre has a skill honed as a student of American banjo and jazz guitar at CEGEP St-Laurent, and the musicianship of many years of folk singing in the bars and bistros of the province of Quebec.
In 2005, he founded the Quebec traditional music group La Giroflée, with whom he recorded J’ai dans la Mémoire in 2008 and toured Quebec festivals, opening for Patrick Norman and Fred Pellerin among others. In 2010, he toured Europe with the Celtic Spring Caravan Tour and participated in two Cirque Alphonse circus productions La Brunante (2006) and Timber (2011). He recorded Les Bacheleurs for the documentary Hommes des Bois et Bûcherons de Chantier by Simon Rodrigue.
